About the project
Mega Roll is a mystery collectible adventure dice game. Each $29.99 box, a kraft D20-shaped box, holds a random character from Series 001: a vinyl mini, a seven-piece custom dice set, a scenario scroll, a character sheet and three character-specific ability cards.
Players roll the box for initiative (the highest roll becomes the Scroll Keeper), open the scroll and battle in 15 to 30 minutes. It sits between blind-box collectibles, tabletop gaming and designer toys.
The landing page lets you play the first rule: three heroes roll a D20 with a clack and tumbling numbers, the winner becomes the Scroll Keeper and the scroll opens. Character cards tilt like real holo cards, and the ability cards fan out so you can drag one up to play it.
Status
A product concept with brand, characters, game rules (v0.2), a pricing ladder and a landing page with a waitlist. The planned route is Kickstarter. There's no physical production yet, and the product renders are AI-assisted visuals.
What was interesting
- 01
One product, three disciplines. Character and packaging design, a playable game system and a business plan (pricing ladder, Kickstarter route, unit economics) behind the same brand.
- 02
Cutting complexity on purpose. The rules went from a dual-chip economy and multi-step turns to three steps (Roll, Activate, Pass) after testing against 'pick it up and play in five minutes'.
- 03
The landing page uses the game itself. Visitors roll for initiative and play an ability card instead of reading about them.
- 04
Physical product details on the page. Holo foil on the art window, kraft packaging color and wax-seal scrolls carry the product onto the screen.
